The NBL's strength lies in our ability to work with neurobiologists to fully explore, characterize and test a wide range of genetically-, surgically- or pharmacologically-derived mouse models. Although the NBL primarily serves the Harvard community, including the 17 affiliated research hospitals, we also welcome users from other parts of the Massachusetts academic neurobiology research community.
All users must comply with the policies of the Harvard Center for Comparative Medicine (HCCM). Training and information on animal research practices and regulations can be found on the HCCM website. All experimental procedures involving animals must be approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Collaborators who would like to develop/implement new experimental procedures not listed on the NBL’s IACUC protocol can work with the director and their respective IACUC to create a new animal protocol or submit an amendment to the existing animal protocol.
For more information, or to schedule an initial visit, please contact the NBL Director, Dr. Barbara Caldarone or call 617-525-5414.
